چکیده

In the context of long-term degradation porous media, coupling between fracture mechanics and reactive transport is investigated. A model in a cracked discontinuous heterogeneous medium proposed. The species through along crack network are taken into account multibody approach. dedicated geochemistry solver developed allows to take significant number chemical reactions. validated via benchmark for without discontinuity. applications deal with two kinds attacks pre-cracked concrete sample highlight impact discontinuities kinetic on localization degradation. results bring out that unidirectional descriptor, such as depth ingress rate, not sufficient describe material correctly.

Solute Transport in Heterogeneous Porous Media

Solute mass transport in porous media is strongly correlated with pore fluid flow. The analysis of solute transport is an effective means for studying medium heterogeneities. In this study, we discuss the effects of heterogeneity on the tracer transport. Assuming steady fluid flow, we have simulated tracer transport in various permeability heterogeneities. The results show that the tracer distr...

Multiscale Discontinuous Galerkin Methods for Modeling Flow and Transport in Porous Media

Multiscale discontinuous Galerkin (DG) methods are established to solve flow and transport problems in porous media. The underlying idea is to construct local DG basis functions at the coarse scale that capture the local properties of the differential operator at the fine scale, and then to solve the DG formulation using the newly constructed local basis functions instead of conventional polyno...

An exponential integrator for advection-dominated reactive transport in heterogeneous porous media

We present an exponential time integrator in conjunction with a finite volume discretisation in space for simulating transport by advection and diffusion including chemical reactions in highly heterogeneous porous media representative of geological reservoirs. These numerical integrators are based on the variation of constants solution and solving the linear system exactly. This is at the expen...

Dispersion variance for transport in heterogeneous porous media

[1] We study dispersion in heterogeneous porous media for solutes evolving from point-like and extended source distributions in d 1⁄4 2 and d 1⁄4 3 spatial dimensions. The impact of heterogeneity on the dispersion behavior is captured by a stochastic modeling approach that represents the spatially fluctuating flow velocity as a spatial random field. We focus here on the sample-to-sample fluctua...
